Bedford business owner to co-host Halifax campaign launch for Smith-McCrossin
Bedford business owner, actor and lawyer Kate Mullan-MacIsaac is the latest person to add her name to Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin’s leadership campaign.
“Over the last five years, I have gotten to know Elizabeth through business. Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin’s the real deal. We need her energy, her drive and know how to lead this party and lead this province,” said Mullan MacIsaac. “Elizabeth’s gotten me excited about politics again and I know she can get a new generation of people engaged in the public life of our province. Her understanding of the challenges faced by small business owners, particularly women, will be an unparalleled asset in the Premier’s Office.”
A native of Kentville, Nova Scotia, Mullan MacIsaac earned her undergraduate degree from Mount Allison University and attended theatre school in New York City. After seven years in the film and television industry in California and British Columbia, Mullan MacIsaac returned to Nova Scotia to attend Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law. Following graduation, she practiced corporate and family law for a number of years. After the birth of her first son, Mullan MacIsaac and a business partner opened Infusion Spa + Salon in Bedford in 2012. She remains active in Nova Scotia’s film and television industry and recently joined the Board of Directors of Neptune Theatre.
“I am so grateful that Kate is taking time from her busy life of balancing business, family and community to join my leadership team,” said Smith-McCrossin. “With the support of Kate and many others in Halifax and across the province, we’re going to build the kind of province where more small business owners like Kate can flourish, create jobs and contribute to our overall tax base.”
Mullan-MacIsaac will be co-hosting the Halifax campaign launch for Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin’s leadership campaign, Thursday, March 1, 12:00 noon, at Neptune Theatre’s Spatz Lounge.
